The plant literally means “youth” in Sanskrit. Bala root powder capsules are priceless for its health benefits. It has powerful cell nourishing properties. It can also aid in cell regeneration. It is used to maintain youth and vitality.
There are reports which state the presence of a symtpomatic alkaloid in the plant. The alkaloid’s action resembles that of ephedrine. It was even thought that the alkaloid was ephedrine. It was later shown that the alkaloid only had similar qualities to ephedrine. Both shared similar characteristics, but were different from each other. This explains its widespread use. In Ayurveda, it was used as a cardiac stimulant. The bark and the seed of the herb can be used as an aphrodisiac.

The Bala root powder is associated with a magical trio combination. This combination is associated with women in Indian herbal folk medicine. It is called as Tripura Sundari. This means “thrice beautiful.”
The herbs of the plant can be dried and made into tea. The leaves can be used for up to 4 times. However, it should be dried first between uses. The strength of the tea can also vary. For a stronger tea, use 1/4 oz. of dried root per cup of water. Then, boil the dry herb in water. Boil until the water is reduced by about half. Refrigerate afterwards. Drink 2 – 3 tablespoons, 3 times per day.
Powder use is; take 1/2 tsp of dry powder per day mixed with tea, soups, or salads.
